Job Requirements: Reporting to the Associate Publisher of Marketing, the Marketing Director will lead all aspects of strategic development, market research / sales support and database management. The Marketing Director will manage two direct reports and be responsible for:

Strategic Development: Oversee development and monitor progress of annual marketing plan encompassing all activities and programs to achieve business goals. Ensure that there is a clearly articulated brand positioning for the magazine which is consistently applied and leveraged across all channels and activities and is used as a key tool to drive advertising/revenue. Develop and execute the magazine’s online strategy in order to drive incremental revenue from advertisers. Develop strategies to tackle non-endemic categories (i.e. business/finance). Establish a methodology to measure results and ROI of marketing programs and report conclusions in a consistent basis.

Research & Sales Support: Determine overall research needs and manage all market research studies to support the magazine’s growth and drive relevance for advertisers. This includes planning the studies, analyzing the findings and developing reports and sales presentations to syndicate results. Develop and enhance sales presentations in all categories of business. This includes the development of marketing materials such as the magazine’s general presentation, media kit, category presentations and customized presentations to specific advertisers, etc. Manage and develop all customized research for clients e.g. reader panels, telemarketing, focus groups, mail surveys, etc. Create sales tools and oversee media wall. Analyze circulation, editorial and competitive ad lineage data, as well as syndicated research numbers in collaboration with Corporate Research Manager.

Database Management: Manage all projects relating to database management including segmentation, email blasts to subscribers, etc.
