MOC Media Operations Specialist - NBC Universal

The MOC Media Operations Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, availability and reliability of the Media Operations Center to support content distribution for NBC Universal Broadcast and New Media distribution.

Responsibilities to include but not limited to: Supporting the fulfillment of all content distribution requests, such as Ingesting Tapes, A/V Files and Graphic files into both the On-air server and Editing server; Media Management, Tape Barcoding; Filing & Retrieving Tapes and Purging Tapes. Ingesting Commercials, Promos, Long Form Programs, Graphics & other Interstitial Material into Both Standard Definition & High Definition Servers. Supporting Program Prep, Program Screening, On-Air Marketing and Programming with all of their tape and ingest needs. Bar-coding, Labeling, Filing, Retrieving and Purging Tapes in an efficient & timely manner. Maintaining On-Air continuity with accurate fulfillment of requests from our automation systems "Makelist" for distribution. Retrieving, QC and Ingest Commercials into On-air Dub Stations. Receiving, QC and Ingest Promo into On-air Dub Stations and Promo Elements into Unity Ingest Stations. Receiving QC and Ingest Standard Definition and High Definition Long Form Programming and Ingest into On-air Dub Stations or Unity Ingest Stations. Graphic retrieval QC and ingest. Bar-coding and Labeling Tapes in a consistent and accurate manner.. Reviewing Databases and Confirming Entries for uniformity and accuracy. Ensuring Tapes are filed and/or shipped and records have been updated. Assisting Program Prep, Program Screening, On-air Marketing and Programming with their tape needs. Filing & Retrieving all tapes in a timely and efficient manner and update MLS accordingly. Sending requested tapes to Iron Mountain and update MLS accordingly. Physically purging tapes from shelves in a timely and efficient manner

Basic Qualifications: Communications degree and/or technical background or equivalent experience. Minimum 2 years experience in On-Air Broadcast/Cable Environment

The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) is the international trade association for the attractions industry. Based in the Washington, DC area, IAAPA has 4,300 member companies in 90 countries. Members include theme and amusement parks, waterparks, zoos, aquariums, family entertainment centers, museums, science centers, and resorts around the world.

The Media Relations Manager for IAAPA is responsible for the media relations activities of the Association, including:

Strategizing and writing key communications materials to promote and support the Association, its programs and services, and the attractions industry to our members, the press, and the public at large. Generating positive publicity for the Association, the attractions industry it represents, and its members. Generating positive publicity for all Association events with both trade and consumer press. Researching and writing support materials on topics, trends, and issues affecting the industry. Managing crisis communications. Supporting members in their media relations and crisis communications efforts. Overseeing the Association’s charitable programs.

Specific Duties: Establish/build relationships with members of the press. Respond to media inquiries. Pitch stories to the press. Research and write press releases, position statements, and talking points for industry issues and trends. Manage media relations activities (publicity campaign/strategy, hiring and supervising outside PR agencies, press release writing and distribution, photography, press room set up and management, media registration, media escort, information dissemination) associated with IAAPA events. Manage the development and production of IAAPA’s daily news clips summary, News Flash. Work with outside editor to write, edit, and review News Flash. Work with the website manager to oversee the distribution of News Flash to members. Monitor media coverage for the Association and the attractions industry. Maintain industry information (statistics, facts, trivia, demographics, facility lists etc.). Provide support for and place op-eds as needed on critical issues. Act as secondary spokesperson for the association. Establish/build relationships with member media/public relations counterparts. Qualifications: Five or more years experience in media relations, including demonstrated experience working directly with the press (responding to inquiries, pitching stories, developing strategy). Minimum of three years of solid print or public relations writing experience. Proven news editing (AP Style) skills. Strong verbal communications skills. College degree in communications, public relations or related field. Policy research and communication support material development experience a plus. Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects at one time. Willingness to travel (less than 10%).

The PGA East hosts a wide array of monthly events for its 700+ members, including professional seminars, workshops, forums, panel discussions, mixers and exclusive pre-release screenings with Q&As.

Office Coordinator will be responsible for oversight of office activities, including: collaborating with PGA members to produce and oversee events; writing and creating invitations for events and screenings; administering a group health plan; supervising interns; handling phones and other administrative tasks; directly assisting the Director of Operations.

Applicants must possess: Organizational skills with a great attention to detail; The ability to multi-task is essential for this position; Superb social and communications skills for interacting with the members; Top-notch writing abilities; An interest in or passion for the producing profession.
